Who Is Jason Alexander's Wife? All About Daena Title
Jason Alexander has been married to his wife, Daena Title, since 1982.
From day one, the actor knew Title was someone special. During a 2015 appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Alexander shared the story of his first date with his eventual wife.
“I knew I was playing way above the rim with this girl, so — I think I had a thousand dollars to my name — I went to the bank and took out a thousand dollars in cash,” he said. “I went ‘I don’t know what she’s gonna want to do, but I’m gonna do it!’ "
They quickly fell for each other and married in the early 1980s. After tying the knot, Alexander and Title had two sons, Gabe, born in 1992, and Noah, who arrived in 1996. The pair also became grandparents in 2022 when Gabe had a son.
Through growing their family, they’ve continued to support each other’s careers. Alexander is best known for playing George Costanza on Seinfeld, with Title even appearing in the finale episode of the show in 1998. Away from the TV cameras, she is a visual artist who has had her work displayed around the country.
So who is Jason Alexander’s wife? Here’s everything to know about Daena Title and her relationship with the actor.
She attended Wellesley College
According to her website, Title was raised in Long Island and received a bachelor's degree in art history and theatre studies from Wellesley College in 1979.
After graduating, she moved to Manhattan to work as an actress and writer. Today, she and Alexander live in L.A.
She is a painter
Title’s website says she is a “feminist, expressionist painter” who is “best known for her colorful, figurative work that mirrors her obsession with modern female icons.”
Her work has been shown at galleries across the U.S., including in New York City, Los Angeles and Wisconsin.
Their first date was a star-studded dinner
Alexander and Title didn't have a regular first outing.
“She was the cheapest date in the world," he told James Corden about their dinner in 2015. "We went to a restaurant that no longer exists in New York called Cafe Central ... our waiter for the evening was Bruce Willis and our bartender was John Goodman.”
Even though Alexander didn't spend his whole bank account on their memorable first date, Title was won over. Shortly after, they moved in together.
“Within three weeks, we were living together,” Alexander added.
Alexander proposed with a billboard in Times Square
During his appearance on Corden’s show, Alexander explained that his relationship with Title developed quickly.
“Within six weeks, I started proposing,” he said. “She turned me down three times, and then I had that,” he said while pointing to an image of a billboard in Times Square illuminated with the text, “Daena, I love you, please marry me, forever - Jason.”
This time, Title said yes.
They got married in 1982
The couple tied the knot on May 31, 1982. According to an interview Alexander did for the 2005 book Stars of David: Prominent Jews Talk About Being Jewish, they exchanged traditional wedding vows but with a modern update.
"There’s a ritual where the husband basically says, 'With this ring I consecrate you unto me,' " he explained. "So Daena asks the rabbi, ‘And then what do I say?' And the rabbi said, 'Well, you don’t say anything, once the man says that, it’s done.' "
Alexander continued, "Daena went, 'Hold the phone, he’ll be consecrating himself unto me as well.' The rabbi said, ‘Well, he can say it, but it doesn’t mean anything,' ” and Daena said, ‘It will mean something to me.' "
Alexander and Title share two sons
The pair are parents to two sons — Gabe Greenspan was born in May 1991, and Noah Greenspan was welcomed in February 1996. Their children share part of Alexander's birth name, Jay Scott Greenspan.
Gabe has followed in his father’s footsteps as an actor with credits on shows, including Wayward Guide and Headless: A Sleepy Hollow Story. He married Kristina Holliman in September 2020, and they welcomed a baby in October 2022, making Alexander and Title grandparents.
Noah is also in the entertainment industry as a voice actor.
Title appeared on an episode of Seinfeld
Alexander's wife can be spotted in the famous courtroom-based finale episode of Seinfeld, alongside her husband.
“Particularly sweet for me is that my wife was a jury member. So my wife, who was taking the journey with me, got to be on the set on the show for that last episode,” Alexander told Variety in 2018.
