A transgender Brazilian model is rewriting art history with a stunning new version of Sandro Botticelli's The Birth Of Venus.

Lea T, 36, can be seen in one of five newly released Elle Brazil covers posing as the goddess, who in the 15th-century painting stands nude on a giant shell while arriving to the shore after being born.

On her cover, the model mirrors the goddess' famous pose and sporting a similarly long mane of hair that reaches all the way down to her calves.

Lea also dons a negligee falling down her arms, although this touch isn't included in Botticelli's painting, which has become an emblem of the Italian Renaissance.

The model, who was raised in Italy, made history when she became the first openly transgender woman to take part in an Olympic ceremony by representing her country in the Rio opening parade back in 2016.

Also included in Elle Brazil's five December covers is Brazilian-American actress Sônia Braga, who morphed into Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa.

The 67-year-old star flashes the same discreet smile as the Italian polymath's iconic painting, which dates back to the 16th century.

Her right hand rests on top of her left hand, just like the painting's subject, and her long black hair is parted in the middle.

Elle Brazil's trip throughout art history continues with a powerful recreation of Gustav Klimt's The Kiss.

Actress Taís Araújo and her husband, actor Lázaro Ramos, posed together as if they were seconds away from locking lips while in a passionate embrace, to replicate the Austrian symbolist's iconic 20th-century work.

Araújo and Ramos, both 39, are wrapped in golden fabric that echoes Klimt's original design.

Their eyes are closed, in keeping with the painting that has become an iconic representation of Viennese Art Nouveau.

Composer Caetano Veloso, 75, posed in a new version of English pop artist David Hockney's Joiners series of collages.

He can be seen hugging one of his music instruments in a deconstructed image, which mirrors Hockney's patchworks of photos, which began arranging in the 1980s.
