Charlamagne tha God is SLAMMED for 'fatphobia' after branding plus-size women 'big backs' who are 't
Radio host Charlamagne tha God has been accused of 'fatphobia' after calling plus-size women 'big backs' during a segment on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.
The 45-year-old made the controversial comments while discussing the saga of Reesa Teesa, who went viral after sharing a 50-part video series on TikTok about her ex-husband lying to her.
'Did she have a big back?' Charlamagne said last week, implying that Reesa had a large frame.
'In a situation like this, some of you big backs, y'all gotta stop being so thirsty for a man. There is a man out there for you, okay,' he continued.

'This woman believed all of this because she wanted to believe all of this. Big back belief isn't like everybody else's belief. She said it herself! "He said everything I wanted to hear."
'She wanted to believe whatever was coming out of his mouth because she wanted a man so bad.'
The comments sparked backlash online, including from influencer Kiki Monique, who hosts SiriusXM's Reality Checked.
'Charlamagne made a comment referring to the fact that [Reesa Teesa] is desperate essentially and the reason she's desperate is because she's a big girl,' Kiki said.
'It's 2024, can we get some new material. The whole narrative that big girls are so desperate - here's the gag, babe! Have you ever met these cleat chasers, out here chasing these athletes?
'They are some of the most fit, put together, plastic surgery, thin women ever. And you wanna know the thirst level that these cleat chasers have? You would never catch my big-backed a** acting that way!'
'Cleat chasers' is a slang term used to describe promiscuous women who specifically pursue athletes.
'It was just so gross because Charlamagne always touts himself as such a mental health advocate,' Kiki continued.

Actress and RuPaul's Drag Race judge TS Madison (pictured) also weighed in on the incident in a fiery post to X
'#BigBack people……. (Including Me). Y'all letting Charlemagne get away with that? Or is we caving in his FACE?' TS Madison posted
'And of all the people who know especially what black women go through, and especially what large black women go through, the last person who needs to be calling them out for being "big backed" and desperate is him.'
She added: 'He should be championing us. Are you not our friend? Are you not our ally, Charlamagne?'
In a separate post to Instagram, Kiki wrote, 'Fatphobia is alive and real. And for the record, I've seen women smaller than me acting way thirstier than I ever would.'

Charlamagne and his cohost, Jess Hilarious, responded to TS Madison on Tuesday's The Breakfast Club.
'Let the record show, I didn't even know the young lady had a big back,' Charlamagne said, referring to Reesa.
'I just said it sounded like big back behavior. And I know big back belief when I hear it.
'I don't know why the big back brigade was upset at me.'
